Advances in Green Science and Technology Symposium
NOVEMBER 13-14, 2008

The mission of the symposium is to provide a forum for the exchange of technical information describing advances in science and engineering technology that offer improvements in resource management and conservation, renewability, reduced energy consumption, safety, reduced or less toxic waste production, lower greenhouse gases or other benefits. Contributors will have opportunities to publish in extended abstracts that will be distributed to registrants at the time of the symposium. Formal papers will be accepted for peer-review and inclusion in a book that is planned. Additional details can be found in the Call for Papers page.
The organizers take a broad view of what "green" actually means. We expect symposium contributors and participants will provide more precise measures of "green," and a session on the definition of green metrics is planned. Additional sessions include transportation vehicles (hybrid, electric and crossover), mass transportation alternatives, the manufacture and use of transportation fuels, peak oil, coal and fossil fuel futures, biofuels manufacture, electricity production using alternative technologies, energy conservation in the workplace, school and home, improved lighting technologies, conservation of water and other limited resources, air standards, green constr uction, manufacturing, and chemistry, raising green venture capital, and the legal issues from going green. We expect to accomodate up to 20 technical sessions in parallel over two and a half days.
Please contact Dr. Dan Tedder if you are involved in suitable science or technology development and wish to participate. Technical sessions are organized into seven speakers per session. Volunteers are welcome.
